Terminator Genisys - The Miniatures Game Review

In the ravaged wasteland left after the nuclear holocaust of Judgement Day, the Human Resistance, led by the legendary John Connor, is locked in a desperate conflict against Skynet’s pitiless machines.

Who will ultimately survive in The War Against the Machines?

So this Wednesday just gone I had the chance to play a game of the new Terminator Genisy game by River Horse/Warlord Games at my local Watford Wargaming Federation.

I happened to rather enjoy it and within 10mins was completely hooked as both the speed and ease of play was at the forefront of this gaming experience.

The War Against the Machines, produced by River Horse, opens up a whole world of Terminator Genisys wargaming.

The Endoskeletons and Human Restistance fighters in the main set will plunge you straight into the desperate battle for survival - but this is just the start.

• Advanced Rules covering commanders, different weapons, vehicles, transports and even VTOLs such as Hunter-Killer Gunships.

• Battle Scenarios - a matrix of 36 balanced games.

• Force Lists. Statlines and special rules for all models and weapons of the Human Resistance and Skynet’s Machines.

• Narrative Scenarios - recreating the events of the War Against the Machines.

There is a few downsides though and main being the figures leave me cold, hard plastic designed by Bob Nalsmith .

Thats not a problem for me though as I have plenty of alternatives to use from Grenadier and Copplestone Castings to use as both Termies and Resistance Fighters.

Skeletal Robot sold by FLH
The other major downsides is that you play straight out of the box on a paper gaming mat, so in fact it's 3d peices with 2d flat terrain. It's odd but theres no reason not to treat it like a normal when you expand futher with full army lists and such like.

So Chico rating out of 10?

8

Not bad and I will be getting myself the boxset at somepoint after BOYL.

Thanks for looking!
