Horus Heresy: Emperor's Children Traitor Librarian-Sorcerer

So while I wait for my Gates order to turn up from Warlord Games I've been working on some forgotten projects (Emperor's Children) which has sparked me into buying (Yes it doesn't take much) the odd extra bit.

Anyway while trawling the deep dark of the Ebay I came across this fan made sculpt for £5.

Warhammer 40k/30k: Just When I Thought I Was Out...

Whelp, here we are almost 6 years since I quit ''Modern'' GW (Accept a brief 30k fascination a couple of years back) I find myself looking at trying 40k once more.

40k 8th Edition has everyone talking and mostly good reviews has peeked my interest somewhat.

Trouble is GW prices are still insane and the start up costs could get you a 2 week holiday abroad.

I wanted to try the game and not have to buy another force on the off chance I didn't like the game, so I had only real 1 option and that was use one of my forces for other game systems and the easiest one to port over was my Emperor's Children 30k force.

Beyond the Gates of Antares - Ghar Rebels Pt.1: First Squads

Once again welcome  too the loyal Readers, Minions, Bots and random link clickers to OoaB.

So 2 posts in one week?

Yeah that doesn't happen that often anymore.

Anyhoo as you may have guessed from reading the title that I have started yet another Gates force, this time the little shooty feckers known as the Ghar Rebels.

You may remember way back in early April when I posted the Beyond the Gates of Antares - Shall I? Blog post that I just couldn't choose between Ghar and Boromites.

In the end as we all know I went with the Rock Gods themselves, the Boromites. But now it's time for some Ghar loving but not the Ghar Empire as first thought but their more entertaining Rebels.

Beyond the Gates of Antares - Herts Shard Meet Up No.1

Sunday evening the Herts Shard (A small group of Hertfordshire and surrounding areas based players of Gates) met up for our first get together.

Short story is that I lost but I had a blast and had some good old banter.

There was 2 games going:

Ghar Vs Algoryn

&

Boromites Vs Algoryn Vs Ghar

Beyond the Gates of Antares - Herts Shard

Just a quick post for those who play Gates and are down south(ish) in the UK.

I've just started a new gaming group for arranging games of Gates.

I've found it's kind of a dead spot around me for non-GW gaming so hoping this will help to improve things.

So come join us and lets get some gaming in!

Beyond the Gates of Antares - Warlord HQ Open Day Pt.2

It seems Pt.1 went down rather well so here's Pt.2.

Right so Pt.1 left off with all the shiny toys on display so lets start Pt.2 with the toy haul I bought then shall we?

Beyond the Gates of Antares - Warlord HQ Open Day Pt.1

So yesterday myself and a fellow Watford Wargamer Club member and friend woke up early and headed up to Nottingham for the first ever Gates Open Day at Warlord HQ.

Of course we had to stop on the way up at the infamous Watford Gap Services for a Bacon Roll and a much needed wee (Not in that order though hehe).

Tables for the Tournament and Open Gaming tables at the back
Now we weren't playing in the Tournament but rather both brought up forces for the Open Games and we were invited by the Primus Shard gaming group to take part in their 3 Vs 3 Game.
