So tell me about Bushido?

Welcome boys and girls back to my section of the underwebs, bit of something new today folks:

Bushido:

Bushido is an oriental fantasy tabletop miniature battle game for two players. Each player commands a force of no more than a handful of individuals, represented by 32mm metal miniatures.

These forces meet on the battlefield and the commanders (the players, that is) try to outwit, outfight and outlive the opposing force and fulfil their battle objectives while denying the enemy theirs. If you have played tabletop miniature games before, Bushido falls into the ‘skirmish game’ category: all miniatures represent individuals and your force consists of a small group of unique characters rather than a big faceless army.

A game of Bushido is fast-moving, flexible and filled with strategizing, counter-strategizing and counter-counter-strategizing. Your tactical acumen is important, but as dice add an element of randomness, so too is your ability to think on your feet.

A typical game of Bushido takes between one and two hours to play - more if you are new to the game, less if you are a seasoned veteran.

So that was the blurb from the game website and it sounds quite interesting. Now as you know I'm a bit of a jaded gamer always on the hunt for a new game to play and waste my hobby time and funds on, I can't just stick to 1 project to completion (I need to change stuff up).

Now my long suffering reg opponent Pat has taken a interest in Bushido (Painting 2 Warbands and starting work on some scenery) and asked if I fancied giving it a bash.

Honestly I haven't made up my mind quite yet.

One of the many reasons I'm ummming is that the price is rather high at around £30rrp for a starting Warband (5-7 figures, plus cards).

That is rather high, of course you could find alternative figures and print off the cards but would the game still have the ''Ultra-glossy'' feel about it.

Another problem is I just don't know if the game has any real fanbase and my research so far doesn't imply one way or the other.

Now this is where you loyal readers come in and the point of this Blog post, have you played it? What's your thoughts? Should I give it a bash? Do you want me baby?

Thanks for reading and of course hopefully commenting.

Ta Ta for now!
