Bolt Action: Romanians Pt.3

Welcome loyal vagabonds to Pt.3 of this army build (Pt.2 HERE)

Due to the heat that we have been having (And the desire to go down the pub it brings) my painting is slowing down a tad.

Though I have done some commission painting for a friend which took a couple of days to knock out as well.

Still I have finished a TAC Resita 75mm Heavy AT Gun, TA (StuG3) and 4 Tank Hunters (Game terms just more SMG troops for my units).

Bolt Action: Romanians Pt.2

Welcome back boys and girls, today I have a fairly large update to my last Bolt Action Romanian post (HERE).

After a number of paint changes and addition layers I'm finally happy with their outcome, well sort off... Honestly I wish I went with the Winter sculpts over the Summer uniforms but nevermind eh?

Bolt Action: Romanians Pt.1

Welcome boys and girls back to OoaB for another typo filled blurry picture infested Blog post.

So anyway with the amount of Bushido I've been churning out (More posts to come in fact) I fancied a new project.

I've been ummming and erring if I wanted Romanians or Hungarians or not for a little while, but the choice was made for me as my regular opponent went and started a Hungarian force.

Enter Romanians for Bolt Action (My chosen WW2 gaming system).

Once again I didn't join in the Events tournament as it's not my cup of tea.

But thanks too a little bit of begging the nice chaps I did get the event minis:

Bushido: More Savage Wave, House & Torii Gate

Good morning/afternoon/night my loyal readers of the darkest dankest Blog of Vice and Dice.

I've been a bit lax updating this Blog with my efforts mostly being on posting on Fannybook for ease and pure laziness on my part.

But I have 2 Bushido posts coming up for you reading pleasure.

First is a general update than tomorrow a Battlereport/photo dump of my latest game.

Warband so far, 13 buggers with 3 more to finish.

Bushido: 3D Printed House and Scatter Terrain

Welcome loyal readers who still like to punish themselves by reading my ol' somewhat hobby butterfly Blog.

Nothing too exciting today I'm afraid with just some scenery for my WIP Bushido 2x2 gaming board.

Bushido: Battle Report(ish) - 35 Rice Savage Wave Vs Tengu

So this lunchtime I jumped on a London Overground train and headed down to Harrow for a few hours of Wargaming once again against my regular opponent Pat at his place.

I arrived to see a lovely 2x2 board already set up and his Warband ready for some action.

I quickly made up a 35 Rice Warband which looked cool.. I had no clue how well they may  play & synergize or not (Mostly not as it happened hehe).

Bolt Action: Defence of Berlin German Force

So regular readers know that I love my WW2 gaming in the form of Bolt Action by Warlord Games.

For me it's the perfect blend of historic forces and freedom to not worry too much about historically correct forces and rivet counting. While some people love making 100% correct forces right down to the correct camo underwear, it just isn't for me.

With this in mind I tend to build my Bolt Action forces within a loose theme such as a Late War Winter German Wehrmacht rather than say a rather more specific theatre, Regiment or month/year.

But this time I've gone for a tad more specific for my latest force, a ''Defence of Berlin'' army, a rag tag bunch of 33rd Waffen SS, Hitler Youth and old men, police, firemen and rear echelon Heer.

You can see thsi force in action from the Battle Report I did a few weeks ago:

Bushido: Savage Wave Pt.2

Well then these didn't take long to paint up (Less than a week in fact), Plus I have to say I was really shocked just how much I enjoyed painting these up.

Sticking them together though wasn't so good.. I may or may not have sworn once, Ok maybe twice 😄

So without rambling on here's the completed Save Wave starter set:

Bushido: Savage Wave Pt.1

Welcome boys and girls, it's seem the combination of warm weather and the Salute trip is fully juiced up my hobby mojo (I call him Tim, Tim the Mojo).

This morning in the space of 2 hours I cracked out my first ever Bushido mini and tried out a new paint/technique as well.

Anyway enough babble here's some pictures:

Back of Beyond - Chinese Painted Pt.7

So welcome once again to my humble Blog and this time it's a continuation of my Bolt Action Nationalist Northern Chinese.

With Salute over and finding myself buying some Reiver Castings Chinese I dug out the 25 or so Copplestone and Pulp Miniatures Chinese that still needed some paint loving and thought I'd better get them cracked out before I start the Reiver stuff.

For those interested the rest of the painted force can by seen here: Chinese Painted Pt.6 (Army Shot).

Note:
A few changes have been made since Pt.6, I changed helmet colours and few repaints/tidying up.

Anyway first up to get painted:

So tell me about Bushido?

Welcome boys and girls back to my section of the underwebs, bit of something new today folks:

Bushido:

Bushido is an oriental fantasy tabletop miniature battle game for two players. Each player commands a force of no more than a handful of individuals, represented by 32mm metal miniatures.

These forces meet on the battlefield and the commanders (the players, that is) try to outwit, outfight and outlive the opposing force and fulfil their battle objectives while denying the enemy theirs. If you have played tabletop miniature games before, Bushido falls into the ‘skirmish game’ category: all miniatures represent individuals and your force consists of a small group of unique characters rather than a big faceless army.

A game of Bushido is fast-moving, flexible and filled with strategizing, counter-strategizing and counter-counter-strategizing. Your tactical acumen is important, but as dice add an element of randomness, so too is your ability to think on your feet.

A typical game of Bushido takes between one and two hours to play - more if you are new to the game, less if you are a seasoned veteran.

No real progress has been made since yesterdays post other than I ummm.. bought something at full RRP.. *Faints* 😵

I know I know, I'll hand in my  Cheaps-bastard card along with the Oldhammer one I've already handed back in shall I? Hehe

Age of Sigmar - Skaven: Brood Horror's & Plague Catapult.

What's this!? a 3rd post this week, damn I'm spoiling you.

Now this post may surprise some of you but I've been dipping my toe (Paw?) into the world of AoS via reading of the novels as I'm a big reader.

While the fluff isn't quite my tastes or up to par with the ''World-that-was'' GeeDubs name for the Old World it did spark my interest enough to rebase my Skaven force (Which up till this point was sitting unloved).

While Kings of War is my go too bread and butter Fantasy game the player base near me is few and fair between and already having 4 KoW forces didn't need another.

While rebasing I kind of fell in love with my Skaven again, they have some rather nice mini's.

The Great British Slaaneshi Rescue: Pt.1

Welcome boys and girls to the Den of Vice and Dice, it's new project time and it's an earner of brownie points to-boot .

Now almost 7 years ago my Wife stuck her toe in the world of Wargaming to try and see what I was addicted too.

So I bought her some modern plastics and metal kits of her choice (Slaaneshi demons as you may have gathered from the post title) for her Birthday to have a wee play about with.

While she both stuck them together and painted them they were soon just thrown in a random box unloved after only a few months.

Oh well I tried.

Now speed forward too yesterday.

I was digging though my boxes in my loft trying too find a spare carrying case and I've found them all unloved and broken.

A idea sparked, ''Why don't I repair them and do a full repaint in her chosen colour scheme (Plus maybe buy some new bits, but shhh about that 😈) and earn some brownie points''

Worst outcome is she just doesn't care and I get a new gaming force, best outcome well.. ummm.. you know 😉.

3D Printing... I bloody love it!

Wow been awhile since the last post, I made that fatal mistake of stating that it was getting warmer again and that I'd start getting back in the flow of things..

What happened.. The Beast for the East and the worst weather in decades... Ooops!

Still I'm almost got back into the hobby swing so it's time for some Blogging! (Yay?).

So we all know about 3D printing and how it's been slowly but surely improving and getting cheaper over the last few years.

I'm a big fan of it myself so I'd thought I'd share my experience.

Beyond the Gates of Antares - Ghar Rebels Pt.5: Reinforcements

Welcome once again my loyal readers to OoaB.

Boy it's only my 2nd post this year, granted we are only 19 days in but it's seems my Blogging output is lacking once more.

Despite not posting I have been busy painting when I can and have managed a fair chunk of bits, but for this post we'll be looking at my Rebel Ghar.

You can view the full force up too this point HERE

Warhammer 40k: Crimson Sons Warband Pt.2 - The Stockpile

Welcome my loyal degenerates, hope you all had a wonderful holiday season filled with toys, booze, boobies and food.

Anyhoo as you may remember from way back in early December (If your brain hasn't melted from too much Xmas music that is)  that I painted up some old Thousand Son Marines:

I quite enjoyed painting them despite the single pose and the smallness of the old style sculpts.

So when I had a chance to visit Dark Sphere in London with my Xmas pressie money I ended up walking out with a few boxes of goodies (At a very nice discount I might add).
