Tale of 4 Oldhammer Gamers - Pt.1

So what's all this then?

Well,

Just before this years BOYL a discussion took place between a few of us on the Ol' Bookface that we should do a Tale of 4 Oldhammer Gamers and with a set goal of gaming at the end of it in mind.

Those taking part along with myself are:

James author of Realm of Chaos 80's
Steve author of Eldritch Epistles
Paul author of The Black Hole

So with that sorted (Well almost Paul has yet to confirm he's still up for it) we came up with the idea of making a 1000pts WhFB3 force to have a 4-way game with at BOYL16.

My first idea was to do a Nippon and a quick look in my lead mountain turned up a dozen or so figures I could get cracking on..

Then I saw the box labelled ''Hobgoblins''

So I opened it..

Chico Does Mordheim: Pt.8 - Treasure Tokens/Scatter Terrain WIP

It's a long holiday weekend here in rainy England, so what that means to me in fact is no post until Tuesday.. Bollocks!

So with no new toys to distract me I was able to get cracking on a few more mundane bits for Chicoheim™, namely some Scatter Terrain/Treasure Tokens.

Chico Does Mordheim: Pt.7 - Orc Queen

So who says there isn't many realistic female figures in Wargaming?

Well this one sure enough looks like my Wife on that special time of the month,

Khorne cares not where the blood flows indeed...

Anyway I bring forth the Orc Queen Vict-Orca

No sleep till Chicoheim!

See I look at peoples Blogs and Forum/FB posts when they show such skill when it comes to building scenery and gaming tables from scratch and I think I could do that,

So!

I'm going to build Chicoheim™ from scratch!

I then cry alittle (Ok alot) when I come to realise..

Nope I  really can't!

Bugger!

So It's a fact then I'll never have the skill to make some and I'm far too cheap and budget restrained to but the super dooper kits out there.

So what's my real options?

Chico Does Mordheim: Pt.6 - Ewal Dvergar sighted.

So while waiting for a few bits to come (Paints and Figures) to finished off my Orc Warband I though to keep the momentum going I'll start of my 2nd Warband (One for the Wife to play).

I was lucky and very greatful that Mr Clam of Clamshells & Sea Horses sent me some of his wonderful Ewal Dvergar or Chaos Dwarves if you prefer in a trade at the beginning of the month.

You can get some of his fine range both sculpted Mr Pickford and a subrange called Son's of Siegward by Sjoerd Trouwee (Of CDO and Hasslefree fame) by visiting HERE

Oh Clam also sculpted some himself including the Chaos Dwarf Standard Bearer sold by 4A Miniatures which I have owned for many years now.

Chico Does Mordheim: Pt.2 - Big Boss & Squig Bouncers

Well well well, looks like I have managed to start up a small Mordheim campaign at Watford Wargaming Club so that's a result.

Now it kicks off on the 9th of September, so I better get cracking and finish painting (And collecting) my Warband, guess I better learn the rules too eh? But that's secondary ;)

Here's how the Warband looks so far:

Chico Does Mordheim: Pt.1 - The Executioner + Chop

Confession time.. I haven't touched this game since Umm.. 2000-2001

It's not because I don't like the game it just slipped though the cracks of my collecting and gaming phases.

That changed last week when I wanted to used the wonderful Foundry Orcs (Found HERE) and I knew I could never afford a Mass Battled Game army of them.

I had a number of rulesets I could have used but my local Club are very much GW gamers at heart..

So Mordheim it is!

The Executioner leads the Warband with his pet Orcling called ''Chop''

Painting Citadel Judge Dredd Part 12 - East-Meg 2 Judges Boris & Viktor

Having picked up many packs (Read 4) of formally unreleased ex-Citadel RT/JD figures at BOYL this last weekend it would have been a shame not to get a couple painted eh?

I started with 2 of the figures that were based on Judges (Judge Giant and a SJS Judge) and with a plan in mind to make them East-Meg 2 Judges for both next years JD game and to give my home games another rival force to challenge Dredd himself.

Big Boris and Sharpeye Viktor

Bring Out Your Lead - The 2015 Aftermath Part.1

Great long weekend, I'm alot money poorer but both lead and soul richer.

First I just like to thank those which gave me transport (Richard and Paul), those who put great time into setting this up both be it games or just general running/setting up for without people like you this wouldn't be so great.

To Kev Adams who made a Chico Santa, Tony Yates who sketched me a cuddly Fimir, everyone to traded with me. Plus all those in the Oldbowl and Judge Dredd games

But most of all to all the Ansells and Foundry staff!,

Now who wants Fridays pictures?

Day 1 goodies :) (Day 2 in the next post)
