Bring Out Your Lead 2016 - Judge Dredd Judgement Day

Just a quick post to remind everyone for the 3rd year running at BOYL I will be running a Judge Dredd Game.

You can view the last 2 years below:

BOYL14: Angel Gang Ambush

BOYL15: The Day the Law Died

This years theme will be based on the ”Judgement Day” story arc but rather then focus on Mega-City 1 or Hondo City it will be set in East-Meg 2 (Which was nearly over run by Sabbat’s Zombies) and their roll in the story.

Following on from the last post (HERE) I've been cracking on with the formerly unreleased figures and turning them into the East-Meg 2 Hit Squad.

Painting Citadel Judge Dredd Part 12 - East-Meg 2 Judges Boris & Viktor

Having picked up many packs (Read 4) of formally unreleased ex-Citadel RT/JD figures at BOYL this last weekend it would have been a shame not to get a couple painted eh?

I started with 2 of the figures that were based on Judges (Judge Giant and a SJS Judge) and with a plan in mind to make them East-Meg 2 Judges for both next years JD game and to give my home games another rival force to challenge Dredd himself.

So for my final BOYL post (Yay?) I'd like to show the pictures of part of the Judge Dredd game I ran on the Friday based on the ''Day the Law Died'' story arc.

The Forces were:

Chief Judge Cal & the SJS

Judge Dredd & Tutors on Lawmasters

Rioting Perps

Street Judges

Painting Citadel Judge Dredd Part 11 - Repainting the Judges

It's been awhile since I posted up any new Judge Dredd but I have been busy cracking on with them. But rather then doing anything new I've been repainting the Judges as I was never happy with them with the straight yellow/black.

I've now been repainting and adding in extra detail.

This is all sparked by me running my annual Judge Dredd game at Bring Out Your Lead.

BOYL14 Judge Dredd Game

This year game is based on  the ''Day the Law Died'' story arc with Chief Judge Cal, SJS, The brainwashed Judges and the Mercenary Klegg facing off against Dredd & Co, The Tutors and various loyal Citizens along with anti-Cal protesters.

Painting Citadel Judge Dredd Part 10 - Judge Glass, Mutie in a Dress & 3 Kleggs

A quick change of pace from the Chaos Squats and Blood Bowl I've been painting up to knock out a few more JD mini's as the unpainted ones are building up (Over 100 unpainted Vs only 60 painted.. for shame).

Judges Glass and Quincy. Sentenced to death by the mad tyrant Cal, they were saved by the quick thinking of SJS Judge Slocombe although they would be humiliated by having to wear non-regulation clothing – Quincy in his underpants and Glass donning a child’s dress and lollipop!

Painting Citadel Judge Dredd Part 9 - Dark Judges Complete

Well just a quick post today I'm afraid boys and girls while I wait to finish putting up a few more shelves for all my extra toys :D. Anyway I've finished up all 5 Citadel Dark Judges (Yes 5.. 2 versions of Death).

Painting Citadel Judge Dredd Part 8 - Dark Judge Fire & Mortis, Judge Dredd & Blax

So thanks to Blaxkleric from the well known and loved Blog Fantorical who posted a comment saying I needed to get cracking on some more Citadel Judge Dredd.. so I Umm did (I have a will of my own.. honest).

Well he was right though, I have over 80 unpainted with only 39 painted.. So yeah I've been slacking.

Judge Chico: Painting Judge Dredd Part 5 - The Ape Gang

So what a grotty week it's been in the Chico household with me dealing with a nasty Nurgle inspired Cold and one of my little furry minions being shit every morning.

Needless to say I have had a few mins to paint, but I did get some stuff finished :D

Ape Gang: Fast 'Ekk, Don Ugglie & Joe Bananas

Collecting Judge Dredd: Part 6 - The Collection So Far!

Sadly I still havn't got anywhere to to paint BUT I did have a chance to sort though my Citadel Judge Dredd/2000 AD collection.

As I've been collecting them since early this year and been picking up the odd few here and there and just putting them away in a box there was indeed a few surprises. Such as when did I get a Judge Hersey or 5 Lawmasters? I was also disappointed to noticed that I didn't have a couple I thought I picked up and that I have 3 of JD1 Judge Dredd... The worse sculpt in the range ugh!

Anyway here's everything I own so far;

Judges: Still missing a few including a Dread variant. Notice the JD1 Dredd painted as a Cadet as he's so small.

The Aftermath of BOYL14: Part 1 - Judge Dredd Game

Arhhh what a wild ride that weekend was! Old lead, good friends, Toys & beer! First of all though I'd like to thank everyone who ran the event both are Foundry and people like but not limited too Gaj and Thantsants for all the hard work they put in.

Also like to thank everyone who gave me the many lifts to a from the hotel and coach station, they were a life saver! Not to mention those lovely chaps who gave me free toys :D

Last but not least everyone who turned up, you made the 3 days great!

Anyway enough dribble time for Judge Dread pictures:

Judge Chico: Painting Judge Dredd Part 4 - Mutie Militia & SJS

So I havn't been painting much dew to my eye still being fecked up and I also had some work done on my Tattoo sleeve on my right forearm which limits to much.

But I have finished the following:

Mutie Militia Jobe and Max

Judge Chico: Collecting Judge Dredd Part 5 - Perps & Muties. Plus 50k Views!

Bit of a joint post today, first is that this Blog as now hit 50k views and has 98 wonderful followers! so thank you for everyone the reads the bollocks that I churn out every few days.

Part 5 of the collecting series, this time a selection of Muties and Perps. These will be used as the Angel Gangs extended family for the BOYL14: Judge Dread game (Seen here)

Judge Chico: Painting Judge Dredd Part 3 - Collection so far

Well it seems I'm back into the swing of things painting wise despite the ongoing eye problems. So today I like to show you how far I've come with the painting of the Judge Dredd project. Once again poor pictures, but what's new there eh?

Angel Gang

Fink & Junior

Mean, Link & Pa

Judge Chico: Collecting Judge Dredd Part 4 - Angel Gang Part 2

Part 2 of the Angel Gang posts of the Collecting Judge Dredd series.

Pa Angel

Elmer 'Pa' Angel was the Patriarch of the Angel gang, a family of dangerous criminals originally from Texas City who Pa preyed on travellers making their way across the Cursed Earth. Pa was enormously proud of his children's violent behaviours and in general wickedness, and as a result would encourage it as often as possible, considering it a strength and a virtue.

Unfortunately for one of his sons: Mean Angel, Pa was disgusted by his quiet, passive personality viewing his mild nature as a disappointment and a weakness. This prompted Pa to kidnap a surgeon from nearby Texas city and force him to perform surgical modifications on his son, transforming the once gentle boy into a brutal cyborg.

Judge Chico: Painting Judge Dredd Part 2 - Mean Machine Angel & Judge Dredd

I have to say despite some rough areas and being 25mm these are a real joy to paint. Both Fink and Dredd seemed to paint themselves.

Now my paint scheme isn't 100% canon and I've taken a few liberty's with the Judges uniforms, This is how I have always pictured them in my head rather then the mismatched colour choices in the various 2000AD front covers.

Fink and Mean Machine Angel

Judge Chico: Painting Judge Dredd Part 1 - Fink Angel

Even though my eyes are still wonky I've been trying to get back painting, my test piece was none other then Fink Angel himself.

Fink Angel

Judge Chico: Collecting Judge Dredd Part 3 - Angel Gang Part 1

So part 3 of the collecting series continues, this time It's 3 members of the Angel Gang. The other Gang members will be in the next post.

I think I love the Angel gang most out of everyone in or related to 2000AD/Judge Dredd, but it's a hard call which Angel I like the most.

Mean Machine Angel

When he was young, he was gentle, nice and utterly unlike his viciously criminal family. Pa Angel was not pleased by this, and kidnapped a surgeon from nearby Texas City to operate on him, making him the crazed cyborg he is now.

He has a mechanical right arm and a steel dome over his skull with a dial on the front. This dial has four settings; from 1, where he's surly and disagreeable, all the way up to 4, which is when he is fully berserk. His favorite attack is a head-butt.

He died during the Judge Child saga, but was brought back from the grave by the Judge Child to seek revenge on Judge Dredd. At the end of his return, he was captured by the Mega-City One judges and imprisoned. While there have been escapes and attempts to cure him, he is currently incarcerated in Iso-Cube 666 (which holds the most dangerous foes Dredd has gone up against and subsequently captured, such as Stan Lee and the Dark Judges) in Mega-City One.

Technically the only member of the Angel Gang left, in a recent break-out Mean Machine has discovered that he has a son from his brief relationship with Sadie Suggs. His son is exactly like Mean Machine was during his childhood; good, kind, gentle and sweet. As well as working on his own, Mean Machine occasionally teams up with other crooks, such as Judge Death (in Judgement on Gotham). He is also occasionally "loaned out" to the Judges for missions. One of his most unusual missions was when he was part of "The Three Amigos"; Himself, Judge Dredd and Judge Death.

[BOYL14]: Judge Dredd Scenario

Scenario and Fluff:

(Note this isn't Judge Dredd/2000 AD cannon, but rather based upon what could of happened after the Destinys Angels story arc)

The Judge Child watched as the ships fired and in his last moments thought to himself he'll still have his revenge upon Dredd but it'll take place in a alternative universe.

Judge Chico: Collecting Judge Dredd Part 2

Part 2 of what will be a long running series of posts of my collecting of Judge Dredd Citadel Range. So far I have gotten hold of 24 of the range but budget is now running low so my collecting will indeed slow down. All figures in the photos are all figures I own rather then borrow Wiki images.

Judge Dredd

Judge Joseph Dredd is the titular character of the Judge Dredd universe. Judge Dredd is a clone of the "Father of Justice" Eustace T. Fargo , and is the most feared, respected, and widely known of all the Judges.

Judge Dredd is a Senior Street Judge, and since 2132 a member of the Council of Five the ruling body of the Justice Department of Mega City One.
