Back of Beyond - Chinese Prep Work Begins

What? Whats this?

Yes your eyes aren't deceiving you!

It's another post!

Damn you lot are lucky, wish I got to look at drivel such as this and blurry pics like you loyal OoaB readers get too!

Anyway now my ego can't fit though the door it's time for the post.

So my deal came in the post from  LAF, 27 Chinese Nationalists (25 Copplestone, 2 Pulp).

Now i'm going to try and do something I have never done before and that's paint from a grey base.

I've only ever used black (Yep never even bothered with white).

I'm also going to be using a new technique I've learnt to make snow bases (Unlike my over Snow bases these are easy to do).

So it seems this force is a force of firsts... lets hope my grand plans work out!

So test figures to come in the next few days... so you might get another post this week! *Faints*

Ta ta for now!

  1. Look forward to seeing them in all their painted glory!

    1. Well the test mini is drying and waiting to be based, so it shouldn't be long before painted ones started getting photoed. All I can say so far is that I'm loving a grey undercoat and i couldn't be happier with the paint job.

  2. Great to see another posting, Chico. And what a stonkingly good project this looks too :-)

  3. I'm looking forward to hearing how you do your snow bases. I'm just starting a Frostgrave campaign, so this sort of arcane knowledge is suddenly of great interest to me.

    1. My new way can't get much easier,

Start with a grey painted base, slap Vallejo Grey Pumice on it and build up the base with peaks and dips. When it drys it drys semi clear and you can just see some of the grey paint under/though it. And little white/silver tuffs from Army Painter and bam ya done. Simples :)

  4. Good to see you back posting, smashing looking miniatures.

    1. Thank you mate, be sure to check out the new post :)
