It's been a few weeks since my last Blog post and that's just due to the weather getting and I use the scientific term here ''Fecking Cold'' and my hands not wanting to do what they'll told.

But I have managed to get a couple of games of 40k in with my Traitor Guard and painted a few more bits for my Twilight Kin.

I don't know about you feckers but I enjoy a Army shot when people are doing WIP Blogs just to show you how things are coming along so today's post is just that.

So despite my Mother and Aunt being up from Devon taking up alot of my free time I've still managed a small amount of hobby time and most of it with the Dark Elves.

Well what do we have here then?

A merging of interests I guess, as you may well know I love both WhFB3 era Dark Elves and Kings of War.

So why not combine them?

Now in KoW Evil Elves are known as Twilight Kin and in current lore (Subject to change at somepoint) are aligned with the Abyss.

So Demons and Evil Elves, whats not too love?

Now I already had some Dark Elves painted from a few years ago in a 2 tone paint scheme that I liked at the time but my paintings improved from then so needed repainting.

At the beginning on the year I was working on my Slaaneshi Drow or Dark Elves if you prefer. But dew to other projects and partly burn out that these were shelved.

During my house move 2 months ago these got pretty bashed up with 90% of the figures having some form of damage (The Brides of Slaanesh suffering the most).

But having won a few Ebay lots of various Dark Elves I was missing from my collection (Including my favourite Dark Elf ever made) I bit the bullet and decided it was time for the repair and repaint to happen.

Morathi the Hag Sorceress

Morathi the Hag Sorceress is the mother of Malekith. She was the second wife of Aenarion who rescued her from a Slaaneshi warband in the days of the first Chaos invasion before The Sundering. She is also the first Hag queen of the Witch Elves. Morathi can be seen as the indirect cause of The Sundering as it was she who introduced the pleasure cults to Ulthuan.

Background

After the The Second Great Chaos Incursion, the princes of Ulthuan needed to elect a new Phoenix King. Though Malekith was the obvious choice, the princes instead passed it over to Bel Shanaar since they needed a ruler who was less warlike (Despite Morathi Protesting against it). Bel Shanaar then married Yvraine (Aenarions daughter from his first wife), causing Morathi to lose her title as Queen.

Arhhhhh what a fecking week the last 7 days have been in the Danks Household. I'm glad that's over with and proper hobby time can resume.

Thanks to a few trades I'm now down to only missing 7 Dark Elves.. trouble is I'm having a hard time sourcing the ones I fancy/need. As you seen for a earlier post I've already had to bow down and except plastic into this Warband.

So anyway enough rambling on about shit and time for pictures!

Well sorry for the lack of updates this week, sadly my Wife was taken to the AAU ward of Watford General Hospital after having a series of 6 fits in 24 hours (which increased to another 2 while there) and problems breathing, not to mention a bashed head.

So while this was all going on I did manage a little hobby, even if that was managing to source some Dark Elf Crossbowmen.

These were a steal at £2 for the lot, even with missing Xbows and the fact I didn't want plastic

Painting of the Dark Elves still waxes strong and the painted continue to grow in number. The musk of Slaanesh is a heady one, trapping those who are ill prepared to come into contact with it.

So I've spent the day watching shit TV (Savage Family Diggers & Flip Men) and painting, I've managed to finish 3 Brides of Slaanesh... And take a picture which won't have everyone moaning!

Been a busy few days on the Dark Elf front. With many packages coming thick and fast and I even painted up the first Dark Elf in 15 years!

Today I've also been busy starting work on my Brides of Slaanesh ( Demonette possessed Witch Elves).

After a week or so of hunting Ebay/Forums/Trade Groups the first packages of Dark Elves are now arriving with many more to come.

This is the collection as it stands now (So much more left to both track down and too still arrive)

Some still need to be striped, but they are building in number.

Dark Elves: Warband of The Bane Mistress Fluff part 1

In the cold land of the North lays the home of the Druchii, bitter and twisted Drow. Sinister Elves which worship Khaine the God of Murder (And nipple pinches).

Besides the worship of Khaine, a sizeable portion of the population has also secretly kept alive worship of the Chaos God of Pleasure, Slaanesh. The Cult of Pleasure, led by Morathi, played a major role in the Sundering of the Elves of Ulthuan, but was considered heretical after the founding of Naggaroth and was brutally suppressed as the worship of Khaine became prevalent. Centuries passed, and the Cult grew stronger in the shadows and secret places of the six cities.

Arhh balls.. I've gone and done it again!

So I've gone and done it again! Did what? I hear you cry!..

Well I've started yet another project, 'cause you know I need another of those like a hole in my forehead!

So last night after getting home from a rather nice evening in my local pub enjoying a number of Guinness & Black's I stumble back and end up going on the Oldhammer Forum like normal. Out of boredom I start looking at Threads in the Showroom and I open up pahvivalmiste's wonderful Dark Elves.

That was the final straw and I cracked.. It was time to start a Oldhammer Dark Elf Warband.

So where too start, first of all I've given myself a total budget of £100 and the rest will be trades (Or donations, thanks Charlie). It's going to be built to 2k using Warhammer Armies.
