Bolt Action: Defence of Berlin German Force

So regular readers know that I love my WW2 gaming in the form of Bolt Action by Warlord Games.

For me it's the perfect blend of historic forces and freedom to not worry too much about historically correct forces and rivet counting. While some people love making 100% correct forces right down to the correct camo underwear, it just isn't for me.

With this in mind I tend to build my Bolt Action forces within a loose theme such as a Late War Winter German Wehrmacht rather than say a rather more specific theatre, Regiment or month/year.

But this time I've gone for a tad more specific for my latest force, a ''Defence of Berlin'' army, a rag tag bunch of 33rd Waffen SS, Hitler Youth and old men, police, firemen and rear echelon Heer.

You can see thsi force in action from the Battle Report I did a few weeks ago:

Bushido: Savage Wave Pt.2

Well then these didn't take long to paint up (Less than a week in fact), Plus I have to say I was really shocked just how much I enjoyed painting these up.

Sticking them together though wasn't so good.. I may or may not have sworn once, Ok maybe twice 😄

So without rambling on here's the completed Save Wave starter set:

Bushido: Savage Wave Pt.1

Welcome boys and girls, it's seem the combination of warm weather and the Salute trip is fully juiced up my hobby mojo (I call him Tim, Tim the Mojo).

This morning in the space of 2 hours I cracked out my first ever Bushido mini and tried out a new paint/technique as well.

Anyway enough babble here's some pictures:

Back of Beyond - Chinese Painted Pt.7

So welcome once again to my humble Blog and this time it's a continuation of my Bolt Action Nationalist Northern Chinese.

With Salute over and finding myself buying some Reiver Castings Chinese I dug out the 25 or so Copplestone and Pulp Miniatures Chinese that still needed some paint loving and thought I'd better get them cracked out before I start the Reiver stuff.

For those interested the rest of the painted force can by seen here: Chinese Painted Pt.6 (Army Shot).

Note:
A few changes have been made since Pt.6, I changed helmet colours and few repaints/tidying up.

Anyway first up to get painted:

So tell me about Bushido?

Welcome boys and girls back to my section of the underwebs, bit of something new today folks:

Bushido:

Bushido is an oriental fantasy tabletop miniature battle game for two players. Each player commands a force of no more than a handful of individuals, represented by 32mm metal miniatures.

These forces meet on the battlefield and the commanders (the players, that is) try to outwit, outfight and outlive the opposing force and fulfil their battle objectives while denying the enemy theirs. If you have played tabletop miniature games before, Bushido falls into the ‘skirmish game’ category: all miniatures represent individuals and your force consists of a small group of unique characters rather than a big faceless army.

A game of Bushido is fast-moving, flexible and filled with strategizing, counter-strategizing and counter-counter-strategizing. Your tactical acumen is important, but as dice add an element of randomness, so too is your ability to think on your feet.

A typical game of Bushido takes between one and two hours to play - more if you are new to the game, less if you are a seasoned veteran.
