Dark Future: The Anarchy Cult

Arhhh DF fever is still running strong so it's made me crack on with another group of desperate murders and slavers, The Anarchy Cult. Rumoured to be the foot soldiers of a shadowy group known as The Bible Belt.

The Cult are far fro sutle favouring a blend of High-Octane and flashy paint jobs to draw the unwary into their grasp.

I also picked these up from Elheim last week:

They will be my Panzerheads gang members.

Also picked up there packs of Cultists hoping they will scale well with the DF Cultists (Which I only have one atm sadly).

Anyway thanks for reading and make sure you hit the follow button boys and girls.

  1. Looking good, just a question, why do you base your DF cars? I think you're one of the very first to do that. I can totally understand as I base most my models too (except tanks) but wante dto know if there was a particular reason.

  2. Thankies, 3 reasons for basing really first and most important for me is the looks. It stops them looking less like toys and more like game pieces plus weathering looks a tad better if it matchs a base style..Second is that it makes them more durable and less prone to damage. 3rd is that it makes them usable for other game systems that use base to base contact.

    1. Makes sense, I have to say it truly adds "ambiance" especially with a desertic theme like yours. Didn't think about it before but it's true it also make them look less like toys. Nice move here Chico.

    2. I think it's as important as the paint job really, hate to have spent hours on repainting to find they are still too toy like. Plus the base only costs 10p on top of the £1 toy so doesn't break the bank.

  3. Gah... what are you doing Chico!?! You're sorely tempting me to dig out my old "Battlecars" box and start painting up some of my Hot Wheels stuff; especially if I can get one painted anywhere near as well as you've done those two cars for this post. Absolutely superb stuff. I too base my vehicles - though I tend to use oval bases myself, for all the reasons you mention. Those "Elheim" minis look good, do they scale up well with your Hot Wheels stuff?

  4. They look really awesome. I love the colourful paint jobs! :)
Do you strip your cars before painting them, or paint straight over the original paint job?

    1. Thanks mate. No I just remove any transfers, convert and prime black and they are good to go really, no fiddly stripping or disassembling. Once spray primed they take the paint very well.

  7. Hey Chico, I can't see your picture of the Elheim stuff, the link is broken. And Damn you! Damn you to Hell! I can't handle another distraction back to Post Apocalyptic stuff, in 20mm no less.
