2014 Round Up: Part 1

Well well well.. Almost another year gone and boy this year has had it's highs and lows.

This year has had some rather rotten lows, being diagnosed with a condition that'll end up making me blind and my brother stealing my inheritance being two of the worst.

But feck that boys and girls there has been many a good thing too so lets list them shall we?

What? wait?

Yes I'm going to show off because for once despite a sitting in a cold flat with no working boiler I've managed alot this year.

The Aftermath of BOYL14: Part 3 - Epic Um... Epic?

So day 3 of BOYL for myself was a large Epic game where I got gang raped. But before I show these pictures I'm going to show off my toys that I bought and traded for at the event :)

Foundry Giant Troll WIP

So a quick break from my BOYL14 update to bring you a WIP on my first figure being painted for BOYL15. It also happens to by one I bought at BOYL14 so quite suitable.

As we all know I'm colleting up a Chaos Infested Greenskin force, so what better then to have a large corrupted Troll? Ok.. 2 would indeed be better but another will be added to my lead pile at some point.

Anyway this big boy is by John Pickford and is a sculpt with such character.

There he is in his naked glory, ignore all the LE Fishmen.. they are for another project. And stop staring at my Dettol jar!

The Aftermath of BOYL14: Part 2 - Epic,The War of the Beards!

So with the GMing of the Judge Game done and lunch of a Baked Potato in my belly I moved on to the first of my Epic games.

The Aftermath of BOYL14: Part 1 - Judge Dredd Game

Arhhh what a wild ride that weekend was! Old lead, good friends, Toys & beer! First of all though I'd like to thank everyone who ran the event both are Foundry and people like but not limited too Gaj and Thantsants for all the hard work they put in.

Also like to thank everyone who gave me the many lifts to a from the hotel and coach station, they were a life saver! Not to mention those lovely chaps who gave me free toys :D

Last but not least everyone who turned up, you made the 3 days great!

Just when I thought I was done...

Yep in the last post I said I was done with Epic Scenery, well I was wrong.

Turns out my Daemonscape turn up the next days and the goodies within were cracked out the bubblewrap rather quickly.

I made a start on getting them prepped and half the bits of the final order is finished to go along with everything else already painted.

Epic Scenery Done!

Well ok.... maybe not, I still have an order from Daemonscape yet to arrive containing ruins/rubble, more Orky shacks and a couple of large Warehouses. But I'm not sure if they will even get here before BOYL let along painted in time for my Epic games (I'm both running a few on the Saturday and playing in a large one on the Sunday)

Quite happy with how they turned out and I'm glad I based them on plastic sheeting for ease of use even if it was annoying and I ended up getting sand everywhere (Including on the Cat)

My Ork settlement, I will add to it (In fact that's the order I'm waiting for) a fecking bugger to paint as it's all fiddly bits and odds and sods.

6mm Cult of the Children 50% done!

So with BOYL14 only 9 days away I still find myself with alot of painting to finish including 2 Epic armies and Scenery.

Anyway the Cult is now 50% or more finished, and while I love them they are a feking chore to paint unlike the Orks which so much faster.

Epic: More Buildings

So as the grind to get everything done for BOYL14 continues, I've made some more progress on my Epic scenery. To help make painting the buildings alittle more interesting I've been adding little details (Ork Trak chasing a SM bike, a Orka-Cola Truck)

The Judge Child watched as the ships fired and in his last moments thought to himself he'll still have his revenge upon Dredd but it'll take place in a alternative universe.
