Bolt Action Italian RSI Paracadutisti test force.

 

Evening toy lovers, now bit a odd one this but as you know I love a bit of Bolt Action and its my game of choice for a random Club pick up games.

Now my good friend asked me if I could make an Italian force (Mid or Late) top tier (Meaning take on all comers and have a good chance to do well no matter the opponent or mission).

Now theory crafting isn't my cup of tea but I said sure why not.

So below is the pictures of the army

Howdy boys and girls, how are we all doing on this bloody hot and sweaty bumcrack morning?

So yesterday I had the chance to play an old favourite in the form of BA.

Looking though my forces I grabbed my Italian RSI force a few days before to check what I had and I noticed I still had some grey primed chaps I haven't painted Shock horror!

I though I had finished these chaps.. opps so on too the painting table went 7 various Paras including a MMG and some LMG's (Not that I need anymore but the Warlord sets give you 2 to a squad when the rules only allow 1) plus another truck from Paint and Glue Miniatures.

Nothing like a game to motivate you eh?

Just a quick photo dump post from one of the projects I've completed and never took any pictures of for the wee bloggy.

This time it's another BA force (Yes, I know It's a habit).

Anyone who wants to do a Italian Para force then good luck as the camo is a real ball ache so I'm glad they are finished (For the time being).

Anyway of late I've been revamping my WW2 Romanians (As a break from playing and painting AoS armies), tidying up a few paint jobs and bases along with a few new additions.

Due to the heat that we have been having (And the desire to go down the pub it brings) my painting is slowing down a tad.

Though I have done some commission painting for a friend which took a couple of days to knock out as well.

Still I have finished a TAC Resita 75mm Heavy AT Gun, TA (StuG3) and 4 Tank Hunters (Game terms just more SMG troops for my units).

After a number of paint changes and addition layers I'm finally happy with their outcome, well sort off... Honestly I wish I went with the Winter sculpts over the Summer uniforms but nevermind eh?

Welcome boys and girls back to OoaB for another typo filled blurry picture infested Blog post.

So anyway with the amount of Bushido I've been churning out (More posts to come in fact) I fancied a new project.

I've been ummming and erring if I wanted Romanians or Hungarians or not for a little while, but the choice was made for me as my regular opponent went and started a Hungarian force.

Enter Romanians for Bolt Action (My chosen WW2 gaming system).

Bolt Action: Defence of Berlin German Force

So regular readers know that I love my WW2 gaming in the form of Bolt Action by Warlord Games.

For me it's the perfect blend of historic forces and freedom to not worry too much about historically correct forces and rivet counting. While some people love making 100% correct forces right down to the correct camo underwear, it just isn't for me.

With this in mind I tend to build my Bolt Action forces within a loose theme such as a Late War Winter German Wehrmacht rather than say a rather more specific theatre, Regiment or month/year. 

But this time I've gone for a tad more specific for my latest force, a ''Defence of Berlin'' army, a rag tag bunch of 33rd Waffen SS, Hitler Youth and old men, police, firemen and rear echelon Heer.

Back of Beyond - Chinese Painted Pt.7

So welcome once again to my humble Blog and this time it's a continuation of my Bolt Action Nationalist Northern Chinese.

With Salute over and finding myself buying some Reiver Castings Chinese I dug out the 25 or so Copplestone and Pulp Miniatures Chinese that still needed some paint loving and thought I'd better get them cracked out before I start the Reiver stuff.

Note:

A few changes have been made since Pt.6, I changed helmet colours and few repaints/tidying up.

Anyway first up to get painted:

Mission: Top Secret (Get the Berlin defence plans from the ruined Tiger 1E).

Forces: 33rd Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS Charlemagne supported by Hitler Youth and Volkssturm Vs The British 3rd Airbourne and supporting British elements.

Welcome boys and girls to another Battle Report, it's been a wee while but hopefully these report will make up for the fact.

So anyway I was lucky enough to get to be the first to play on my friends new gaming table.

So while I have been painting up other projects (Some of which will be posted soon) I haven't stopped painting my beloved Nationalist Chinese.

I would say I'm not 80% towards total completion.. not that any force is really complete.

Bolt Action - Operation Sealion/Dad's Army

So as you might know Warlord Games are releasing a Campaign book for Bolt Action  based on the ''What could have happened'' British Invasion code-named Operation Sea Lion.

The year is 1940, and the German invasion of Britain has begun. With this new campaign book for Bolt Action, players can fight the battles of World War II's greatest 'what if' scenario. Now seeing as last years Bring Out Your Lead hosted at Foundry I picked up more or less the full set of Foundry's Home Guard it was due time I got working on them again.

Konflikt '47 - German Waffen SS ''Terror Squad''

'Ello my loyal OoaB readers.

Now I've mentioned K'47 a fair few times on this Blog but have never shown you any finished units.

Well today I bring forth the first completed unit:

Waffen SS ''Terror Squad''

This Terror Squad is made up from members of the 33rd Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS Charlemagne (1st French).

Armed with a number of unsual weapons like the Gustloff VG 1-5 assault rifle, Krummlauf assault rifle (fires around corners!) &  Luftfaust hand-held anti-aircraft rocket launchers.

So it's been 15 days since the last WW2/BoB Chinese update (Blog post HERE) and the force was just starting to look like something other than a random collection of figures, now though it's almost a small gaming force.

Bolt Action: German Winter Wehrmacht

So the last Blog Post I showed you all my WW2 Winter German Armour, now here's the the Wehrmacht Infantry to go with it.

In July last year I posted up a Blog post showing off my German force for BA/K'47.

Now I wasn't happy with it and I ended up paint stripping them and separating the force into two, a K'47 army which also serves as a BA Last Levy force with changing up the units (Remove Volksstrum & add in Heavy Armoured Inf or vice versa) pictures of those to come.

The 2nd force were turned into a Ostfront Mid-Late War Winter force.

Today I finished the last but of Armour in the form of a Stummel.
