Bolt Action Italian RSI Paracadutisti test force.

Evening toy lovers, now bit a odd one this but as you know I love a bit of Bolt Action and its my game of choice for a random Club pick up games.

Now my good friend asked me if I could make an Italian force (Mid or Late) top tier (Meaning take on all comers and have a good chance to do well no matter the opponent or mission).

Now theory crafting isn't my cup of tea but I said sure why not.

So below is the pictures of the army

Bolt Action Italian RSI Vs British Airborne Game Photo Dump

Howdy boys and girls, how are we all doing on this bloody hot and sweaty bumcrack morning?

So yesterday I had the chance to play an old favourite in the form of BA.

Looking though my forces I grabbed my Italian RSI force a few days before to check what I had and I noticed I still had some grey primed chaps I haven't painted Shock horror!

I though I had finished these chaps.. opps so on too the painting table went 7 various Paras including a MMG and some LMG's (Not that I need anymore but the Warlord sets give you 2 to a squad when the rules only allow 1) plus another truck from Paint and Glue Miniatures.

Nothing like a game to motivate you eh?

1000pts doesn't get you much in a Vet heavy force

Bolt Action: Italian Paracadutisti

Just a quick photo dump post from one of the projects I've completed and never took any pictures of for the wee bloggy.

This time it's another BA force (Yes, I know It's a habit).

Anyone who wants to do a Italian Para force then good luck as the camo is a real ball ache so I'm glad they are finished (For the time being).

Bolt Action: Romanians Pt.4 - Odds and Ends

Welcome boys and girls to the dark recesses of the hobby interwebs.

I'm going to try and get this Blog back up and running, but there won't be a fixed blogging schedule.

Anyway of late I've been revamping my WW2 Romanians (As a break from playing and painting AoS armies), tidying up a few paint jobs and bases along with a few new additions.

Bolt Action: Romanians Pt.3

Welcome loyal vagabonds to Pt.3 of this army build (Pt.2 HERE)

Due to the heat that we have been having (And the desire to go down the pub it brings) my painting is slowing down a tad.

Though I have done some commission painting for a friend which took a couple of days to knock out as well.

Still I have finished a TAC Resita 75mm Heavy AT Gun, TA (StuG3) and 4 Tank Hunters (Game terms just more SMG troops for my units).

Bolt Action: Romanians Pt.2

Welcome back boys and girls, today I have a fairly large update to my last Bolt Action Romanian post (HERE).

After a number of paint changes and addition layers I'm finally happy with their outcome, well sort off... Honestly I wish I went with the Winter sculpts over the Summer uniforms but nevermind eh?

Beyond the Gates of Antares - Warlord HQ Antares Open Day 2018

So It's that time of year again where I managed to get a day off work and headed up too Warlord Games HQ for their annual Antares Day.

Once again I didn't join in the Events tournament as it's not my cup of tea.

But thanks too a little bit of begging the nice chaps I did get the event minis:

Bolt Action: Defence of Berlin German Force

So regular readers know that I love my WW2 gaming in the form of Bolt Action by Warlord Games.

For me it's the perfect blend of historic forces and freedom to not worry too much about historically correct forces and rivet counting. While some people love making 100% correct forces right down to the correct camo underwear, it just isn't for me.

With this in mind I tend to build my Bolt Action forces within a loose theme such as a Late War Winter German Wehrmacht rather than say a rather more specific theatre, Regiment or month/year.

But this time I've gone for a tad more specific for my latest force, a ''Defence of Berlin'' army, a rag tag bunch of 33rd Waffen SS, Hitler Youth and old men, police, firemen and rear echelon Heer.

You can see thsi force in action from the Battle Report I did a few weeks ago:

Beyond the Gates of Antares - Ghar Rebels Pt.5: Reinforcements

Welcome once again my loyal readers to OoaB.

Boy it's only my 2nd post this year, granted we are only 19 days in but it's seems my Blogging output is lacking once more.

Despite not posting I have been busy painting when I can and have managed a fair chunk of bits, but for this post we'll be looking at my Rebel Ghar.

You can view the full force up too this point HERE

Beyond the Gates of Antares - Ghar Rebels Pt.4: Army Shot

Welcome denizens of the underwebs to the Den of Vice and Dice.

Been awhile seen I've done a update post on my Rebel Ghar as after burning out trying to get them painted for the Warlord HQ Bootcamp Event last September and failing I was burnt out.

Now the urge has come back to finish them despite a few hiccups (I went to Dark Sphere in London with the plan to buy a few Ghar bits, I ended up walking out with a the start of a new 40k army instead.. Feck).

This is everything currently finished, I still have some more stuff to paint (And buy) including a Hukk Bounty Hunter and Pets and some more cannon fodder.

Beyond the Gates of Antares - Warlord HQ Bootcamp 09/09/17

A little late posting this on the Blog but these pictures have been posted elsewhere already (Beyond the Gates of Antares - Herts Shard & Beyond the Gates of Antares (IMTel)).

So the core members of the Herts Shard myself, Martin and Simon headed up to Warlord Games HQ early on a Saturday morning for a day of dice rolling, Pizza, tea and good light hearted banter.

We of course stopped on the way up at the infamous Watford Gap services (No not my ex!.. She goes by the name KFC Bucket 😉) for some fuel.. also known as Maccy D's.

The day was jointly ran by Pete of the Primus Shard & Gameface fame along with Warlord HQ themselves and I can't forget the other helpers such as Tish who kept us well supplied.

"Good 'cause you won't find her here, this is the House of Horrors
And for you it's absolutely free, step right in" (thanks)

Ahem... sorry the damn songs been stuck in my head all day and now it's your turn hehe.

Anyway welcome to Pt.2 of my Ghar Rebels army build, a Rebel Creeper and the Arch Rebel himself Fartok.

Beyond the Gates of Antares - Herts Shard Meet Up No.2

Last night was the 2nd Herts Shard gaming night, just the 2 of us this time but still a rather fun day of random banter, dice rolling and rules we got wrong :D.

We played 2 games, the first we stopped after turn one and moved terrian around and reduced the table size after the first game became clear it wasn't making for a run game.

Below are some pictures of the 2nd game

Beyond the Gates of Antares - Ghar Rebels Pt.1: First Squads

Once again welcome  too the loyal Readers, Minions, Bots and random link clickers to OoaB.

So 2 posts in one week?

Yeah that doesn't happen that often anymore.

Anyhoo as you may have guessed from reading the title that I have started yet another Gates force, this time the little shooty feckers known as the Ghar Rebels.

You may remember way back in early April when I posted the Beyond the Gates of Antares - Shall I? Blog post that I just couldn't choose between Ghar and Boromites.

In the end as we all know I went with the Rock Gods themselves, the Boromites. But now it's time for some Ghar loving but not the Ghar Empire as first thought but their more entertaining Rebels.

Beyond the Gates of Antares - Herts Shard

Just a quick post for those who play Gates and are down south(ish) in the UK.

I've just started a new gaming group for arranging games of Gates.

I've found it's kind of a dead spot around me for non-GW gaming so hoping this will help to improve things.

So come join us and lets get some gaming in!

Beyond the Gates of Antares - Warlord HQ Open Day Pt.1

So yesterday myself and a fellow Watford Wargamer Club member and friend woke up early and headed up to Nottingham for the first ever Gates Open Day at Warlord HQ.

Of course we had to stop on the way up at the infamous Watford Gap Services for a Bacon Roll and a much needed wee (Not in that order though hehe).

Tables for the Tournament and Open Gaming tables at the back
Now we weren't playing in the Tournament but rather both brought up forces for the Open Games and we were invited by the Primus Shard gaming group to take part in their 3 Vs 3 Game.
