Chico Does Mordheim: Pt.18 - Da Royal Court Completed.

Bit of a bonus Bloggy post today as I've stumbled across my old Foundry Orc Warband while having a tidy up this morning.

Sadly they haven't been used in anger in many a moon which is a real shame as I quite like the ladz.

As you know the last one we done was for WhFB3 and 100pts per month, this time it's Mordheim and only a single per month (Totalling 12 figures that have a combined cost of 500gc).

So after throwing a few ideas around from Skaven to Araby I've finally settled on my Warband of choice..

Chico Does Mordheim: Pt.17 - Riot The Cultist Ogre

Wow Pt.17 eh? (My lucky number as well) and still plowing onward.

So today I have for you Riot (Not to be mistaken for any other Riot you may know, well ok maybe...).

Once again a few people from around the Greater London area are having a get together in Ilford Gaming Club on the 5th of June.

Come down (Up?) and join us for a chat and a game or two. It's doesn't have to be Oldhammer and feel free to arrange and game whatever you wish, as it's a normal games Club no doubt people will be gaming random bits anyway.

Me? Well once again I'll be Mordheiming it up with the Riot Maker himself (Which may or maynot get molested.. just sayin') and Paul/Golgfag1 in a 3 way 1000gc stand alone game.

Hey boys and girls if you remember from this post The Random Cultist Project I picked up some of the fantastic Frostyballs Cultists to use in Chicoheim™.

I have to say even being plastic they were a joy to paint, it allowed me to try a brighter then normal paint scheme without worrying too much.

So it's been awhile since I've done anything for my Mordheim/Chicoheim™ Orcs aka ''Da Royal Court''.

But like most (Read: all) of my projects they are never really finished or put to bed.

Yesterday while looking though the lovely updated Warmonger Miniatures I got the urge to paint up some more of the stunning Kev Adams Greenskins.

For those that don't know Warmonger is an extension of Foundry Miniatures where all their stunning (Sometimes bloody expensive) Fantasy range now lives.

So while no doubt your'll be seeing a few Salute 2016 Blog posts today from various people I decided not to go (Well Ok the empty Bank Account did hehe).

So instead I've spent the day sorting out my projects and finishing up a few odds and sods for the almost completed armies (Warmaster Orcs, Abyssal Dwarfs & Evil Dead Undead).

What I did find in the back of my Hobby Draw/Lead Pile is a single sprue of Frostgrave Cultists that I picked up of Ebay around last Xmas time.

Christmas in September?!?

Ok?

Yeah it seems it comes around earlier every year, the shops start getting in the crap and the websites start springing up to annoy us with endless cheer (Read: More tat).

But sometimes..

Just sometimes..

You spot something that makes ya smile.

Anyway in the last post I was asked to do a shot of all the finished Mordheim scenery together so far, so off I trucked to my local gaming Club tonight and took a few shots.

Now as you can see, there's not much yet but it's slowly building up.

Chico Does Mordheim: Pt.12 Ruined Guardhouse & Small Ruin

So progress continues of the building of Chicoheim despite a large part of my time being on my To4OG Hobgoblins and watching the Rugby World Cup (My only sporting passion).

2 more ruins have been finished a Guardhouse and a small ruined building.

''Da Court'' is the name of my Orc Warband which are based on a Royal Court.

So Mordheim scenery is coming together quite well given the limited kits I could/can afford (Which since then have hunted down a few other options to expand though) being as you know on a tight budget.

Anyway Ruins 2 and 3 are now finished and they were made from Warlord Games Ruined Farmhouse, Balsa Wood and a host of bits from my Bitz Box.

So along with sorting out my Hobgoblins for the Tale of 4 Oldhammers I've still been busy building Chicoheim™. After deciding on using on the Warlord Games ruins it's all coming together rather quickly, plus I have to say I'm rather impressed with the outcome.

Chico Does Mordheim: Pt.8 - Treasure Tokens/Scatter Terrain WIP

It's a long holiday weekend here in rainy England, so what that means to me in fact is no post until Tuesday.. Bollocks!

So with no new toys to distract me I was able to get cracking on a few more mundane bits for Chicoheim™, namely some Scatter Terrain/Treasure Tokens.

So who says there isn't many realistic female figures in Wargaming?

Well this one sure enough looks like my Wife on that special time of the month,

See I look at peoples Blogs and Forum/FB posts when they show such skill when it comes to building scenery and gaming tables from scratch and I think I could do that, 

So!

I'm going to build Chicoheim™ from scratch!

I then cry alittle (Ok alot) when I come to realise..

Nope I  really can't!

Bugger!

So It's a fact then I'll never have the skill to make some and I'm far too cheap and budget restrained to but the super dooper kits out there.

So what's my real options?

Chico Does Mordheim: Pt.6 - Ewal Dvergar sighted.

So while waiting for a few bits to come (Paints and Figures) to finished off my Orc Warband I though to keep the momentum going I'll start of my 2nd Warband (One for the Wife to play).

I was lucky and very greatful that Mr Clam of Clamshells & Sea Horses sent me some of his wonderful Ewal Dvergar or Chaos Dwarves if you prefer in a trade at the beginning of the month.

You can get some of his fine range both sculpted Mr Pickford and a subrange called Son's of Siegward by Sjoerd Trouwee (Of CDO and Hasslefree fame) by visiting HERE. 

Oh Clam also sculpted some himself including the Chaos Dwarf Standard Bearer sold by 4A Miniatures which I have owned for many years now.

So Wednesday night saw myself play the first game of Mordheim in around 15 years..
