Not Wargaming related but still a large part of my childhood, Rik Mayall has passed away.
He played the obnoxious, poetry-writing anarchist Rick in The Young Ones alongside his friend Adrian Edmondson before the duo later went on to star in their sitcom Bottom.
Mayall also appeared in shows including Blackadder and The New Statesman. Mayall's film roles included the comedies Drop Dead Fred and Guest House Paradiso.

Anarchic characters
Mayall also famously played the loud-mouthed and lecherous Lord Flashheart in BBC comedy series Blackadder, starring Rowan Atkinson.
He appeared in the second and fourth series, shouting catchphrases such as "woof!" and "let's do-oo-oo it!".
But his early, anarchic characters gave way to the smooth, scheming Conservative politician Alan B'Stard in The New Statesman, which ran on ITV from 1986 to 1992
"NICHOLAS, BLOODY, PARSONS!"
ReplyDeleteMr Jolly lives next door is a personal favourite comedy film of mine. And I got most of my dance moves from the sillouettes in the end credits of 'Bottom'.
It is a sad day when a creative individual passes away at a relatively young age.
R.I.P. You funny B'Stard
It's sad indeed.. If you fany getting drunk heres some classic advice:
DeleteRichie: Eddie, how did you get this drunk on one pound seventy-five?
Eddie: There's a sale on at the chemists. Old Spice......25p a bottle.
This is definitely shit. Spoilt my day properly.
ReplyDeleteI guess it wasn't much for him either ;)
DeleteMan, this bloke and his comedy shows helped me stay chirpy through my depressive teens. So over the top he was amazing.
ReplyDeleteI need to find my copies of Bottom....
Yeah, just a shame no chance of any more Bottom Live (Not that their was much anyway)
DeleteYeah, what a shock! And at such a young age. He was fantastic in everything he appeared in.
ReplyDeleteIt's a plot by Ade to take over the world one Rik at a time :)
Deleteits complete arse. had been watching young ones with a freind the day it was announced.
ReplyDeleteI cant remember the quote. but i am glad Ade Edmondson said what he did about it.
much needed levity.
hang on , here it is "And now he's died for real. Without me. Selfish bastard."
